Trying out some new engines

RPG Maker is a great engine to use for new developers as it's easy to use and has a lot of tools to help with development. Unfortunately it's also fairly limited and carries some (undeserved) stigma. And so I'll be taking a look at some alternatives such as Unity and Godot.

It's been years since I last did any coding so I'm not sure how feasible it is for me to make my second game using them, not to mention the additional resources I need such as sprites and art assets. Depending on how things go my second game might still be made in RPG Maker. I did learn some techniques to improve the graphics and other aspects of the game so it'd be good to make use of it. For now I'll be experimenting with the new engines and see how things go from there.

Stay tuned for new announcements or follow my twitter for more updates!
